How to use the product

Your wing leash can be connected in two different ways: 1. If you have a piece of rope at the end of your leash, create a loop using the chair knot technique, for example. 2. If the loop already exists, it is reworked with the seam. Once the loop is OK, pass it through the attachment on your wing (the small cord located at the carrying/freefly handle), then pass your leash back through the loop.
Pass the leash attachment through your hand, then tighten so that the loop can no longer pass through your hand without cutting off your circulation. There are no precise rules for choosing which arm to put your leash on: right or left. It all depends on your preferences.
Roll the sail starting from the sides, also known as the ears, rather than folding it. This is particularly important if your sail has plastic windows, as folding can create angles that weaken the fabric or plastic of the windows. Once both sides are rolled up, fold the whole assembly starting at the back to expel the air from the central batten. Stow the valve in its neoprene protection, then fold the sail one last time. Be careful not to put too much pressure on the sail when folding if you want to keep it for a long time. Finally, put the wing back in its bag.
We recommend rinsing your wing in both fresh and salt water. The best way is to rinse it with rainwater, which has less limescale than tap water. Allow your wing to dry completely before storing it. Do not dry your wing in the sun as this could damage it. It is also advisable not to hang the wing up to dry or store it, to avoid the bladders moving or falling into the leading edge or batten.

Q&A

Depending on your size/practice, you’ll find different information on the pages presenting our ranges directly. If you have the slightest doubt, our team of enthusiasts is at your disposal via the website chat (blue logo) at the bottom of your screen.

The head office is located in Brittany, more precisely in Pencran, Finistère. We are located Espace Joseph Rolland – 29800 PENCRAN. We’re shipping from France and from our UK distributor’s warehouse.

All AFS foils are manufactured at our company in Pencran, France. All AFS Advanced boards are also made here. Some of our boards are made in Tunisia at Terminatech, as are our covers. Finally, although we haven’t yet managed to make the leap, our wings are now made in China, although all R&D is carried out in-house.

All our products are packed in reinforced cardboard boxes. We ship all over the world, sometimes between private distribution, boat and plane… All our products are protected with various types of foam.

If the delivery has been accepted, simply use our contact page If you have not yet received the order, feel free to unpack the parcel in front of the carrier. In the event of the slightest impact, you can refuse the parcel – no financial charge will be applied. We have insurance for this. A new parcel will then be returned to you.

You can contact our dealer network or our ambassadors. We also organize AFS Days, where you can test all AFS equipment.
